Last year was a great one. Some of my favorite moments in the collage above.
#Finally!!! I have settled on my goals for 2015. As I said in my 2014 recap, a lot of these goals are going to be similar to last year. Quite a few of my goals are still in progress, but there are a few new additions:)
Word for the year: There has been this trend online to select a word for the year. I think my word for the year is going to be contentment. This is nothing new, but I feel that managing contentment (which can be a struggle for me) is key to achieving so many other goals. This is something I really want to work on this year.
Goal 1: Achieve Goal Weight & Start Weight Training/Toning
So I am currently about 22 lbs from my goal weight. I gained 2 lbs over the holidays.#dangcookies I want my focus to move from just weight loss to weight training/toning. I have started Bikram Yoga, but I also am thinking about a kettlebell workout. I also might hire a trainer. Stay tuned for progress.
Goal 2: Become 90-100% debt freeeeeee!
We ran numbers, and we are hopeful to be about 90% done with debt this year. Our original debt free date is in 2016, but we are hoping to move this along. I am impatient…I can’t help it. This is really where my #contentment word of the year will come into play.
Goal 3: Look into Youtube/Podcasting
Anyone who knows me personally knows I love to talk. It was my #1 problem in school. So obviously something were I talk and share with others either through a YouTube channel or a podcast, is something I would like to add to my online presence. I am not sure which to choose so let me know your thoughts below if you have a preference or first hand experience.
Goal 4: Focusing on Others
God has been dealing with me on “what next?” After we achieve these goals what will my focus be. I find that when you are in debt, or in school, or basically in the process, you are very “me” focused. I am looking to focus on someone or something other than myself. I am tossing some ideas around, but I am thinking about starting a prayer list where others can reach out to me (possibly through this blog) for prayer, and I will add them to my list and pray for them during my prayer time.
Goal 5: Date nights with the Hubby
Eventually (I am not publicizing a date here, lol) The hubby and will no longer be a party of 2. We should kick it more….and not just on our couch watching YouTube. So I would like to set aside a day a month for us. I might even skip my workout. (#lies) The idea is to leave the house and yes we will have to factor this into our budget.
Goal 6: Finish Certificate
My last Digital Marketing Certificate class is this May!
Goal 6: Get back to real food
My healthier me started with a real food diet almost two years ago. When I started counting calories, I let my focus on real food slip a little. This year, I really want to focus on eating more at home and planning more of our meals. I have been using Plan To Eat (review coming soon) to plan our meals and it has been really helpful. I am hoping to keep this love affair with my kitchen all year long!
That’s it! I will be posting progress updates throughout the year of course so stay tuned. What are some of your goals for the new year? Let me know below!
