So last Saturday, we went to Six Flags!!!
The day started with a nice jog/walk in the park. Of course I wanted to get ice cream at First Cone. It is pretty much a tradition in my family to get First Cone on your way out the park. I knew this would be a calorie disaster, so a workout before hand was very necessary.
So to give you some background, if you didn’t know, I live in St. Louis, MO. We are pretty much known for humid July days but recently… we have had the best weather! Breezes through the trees, nice nights, low humidity. So it was very ironic that we picked the hottest day of the year so far for Six Flags. 95 degrees with heat index up to 100 degrees. #Fun
To combat the bad food I knew awaited me, I decided to bring some of my reduced fat popcorn as a side item for whatever I got for lunch in the park. I figured I could find a sandwich or wrap, but I didn’t want chips or fries. Apparently this was not allowed. I believe you can bring a sealed snack (my sister had a cliff bar), but since my popcorn was in a Ziploc bag, they took it at security. #sadface
Once in the park, we had the best time. Seriously it was probably the most fun I have ever had at Six Flags.
See my hubby’s smile. He had not been to Six Flags since 1994. To give you some perspective, my 23 year old sister was 3. 20 years folks. He had the best time. We made up for all 20 of those years. I see a season pass in our future.
Favorite of Day: Boomerang
This coaster backs you up out of the station and then fires you forward and then you go back again backwards. It is crazy. We rode this a couple 3 times. #boom (this was my Hubby’s saying of the day)
Least Favorite of the Day: Sky Scream
I disliked this a lot. I have a little anxiety about heights. I push through it, but these swings were so open and high up. It felt like I could fall out! (I know I wouldn’t but I didn’t like the out in the open sensation). I am game for most rides so I tried it. I don’t think I will won’t try it again. I will be over at Boomerang, lol.
Redemption: Mr. Freeze
If you read my Being Overweight post, you know I once tried to ride in the first car of Mr. Freeze and couldn’t fit. I figured it was finally time to try again. Since the incident, I always ride Mr. Freeze in a middle car. I am happy to report that I NOW FIT! You know I would have tried to get a picture of me in the car, but they were very strict about selfies on the rides:( This really dark picture of us waiting in line will have to do. Oh and the first car is the bomb by the way.
We stayed at the park from open to close, lol. Of course I capped off the evening with some nice cookie dough ice cream from First Cone:) #Thankyoulord #treatday #Iburneditoffdontworry
Thanks for the memories Six Flags! We will see you again soon! Enjoy some more pictures from our day!
