I saw this article on Huffington Post when I was looking for Kardashian/West wedding news:
Once We Become Parents We Don’t Want to Hang Out With You Anymore (But Not for the Reasons You Think)
Obviously I think this was written a bit harshly for a reaction, but my overwhelming thought was…helicopter parent. Oh and I hope none of my friends with kids feels this way. I don’t feel that any of my friends, put me on the back burner when they had kids, I just think things change when you have a major life change (marriage, kids, relocate). I don’t feel sidelined by anyone.
So please let me know what you think in the comments. The only thing I will say is as a childless person, I don’t like the “well I have kids and you will understand when you have kids” tone. We are all busy. I am busy from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep. I don’t like the assumption that my time is carefree or somehow less valuable because I do not have babies.
Let me know what you think! Let’s discuss:)
